Karaván Família – More Than Folklore... Karaván Família is a unique family ensemble formed by parents and their children. Since its founding in 2004, the band has carved out its own musical world rooted in Romani vocal traditions. Their repertoire is a testament to the fact that Romani music is intelligent, witty, wise, and inclusive. Rather than drawing from a single geographical region or a specific Roma ethnic group, their melodies are sourced from the broader European Romani cultural and musical heritage. In addition to distinct European Gypsy styles, their songs are infused with the vibes of Latin music, blues, and pop, resulting in a world music sound never heard before. Despite this immense diversity, Karaván Família remains true to its own signature style—one that is simultaneously youthful and traditional, entertaining and deeply lovable.
